We were delighted to be invited to Cork City Hall recently for the Tomas McCurtain and Terence McSwiney Cup Medal Presentations, with Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Kieran McCarthy presenting Douglas Captain Eoin O’ Sullivan, and Passage Captain Sean Harrington with the medals. We were delighted to have referees Mark Maher and Brian Coniry in attendance to receive a specially commissioned medal from Garry McCarthy Trophies also.
The competition was run as part of the 2020 Decade of Commemorations, but could only be held this year due to COVID-19, and was funded under the 2020 Cork City Commemorations Fund. The competition was also supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media. We would like to thank all of the clubs who participated in this competition, and the Seandún GAA committee members who ensured that the two competitions ran smoothly.
Finally, thank you to Cork City Council for their continued support in commemorating the two former Lord Mayors, and for their great hospitality for the evening.
